THE MAZZOLA COMPANY
Mazzola is the owners' last name. The Mazzola Company is a family business that was established by Elena and Victor Mazzola in 1993. Subsequently, their daughter, Danna Mazzola took charge of the business, keeping it in the family.
The Company was founded in 1993.
Elena and Victor Mazzola immigrated from Argentina in the 1990s. Their older son went to school and came back saying the kids only ate peanut butter and jam sandwiches (coming from Argentina, this was very weird). Elena and Victor therefore began offering healthy and nutritious meals to schools in the region.
They started with one school and quickly through word of mouth, over eighty schools began using their service. Once the children were eating Mazzola meals at school, they no longer wanted to eat their parents' meals at home.
We started getting calls from parents asking us to make a lasagna for the house and that's where Mazzola Shop has become today. Offering a good variety of healthy, nutritious meals for families or simply busy people!
READY TO EAT MEALS
Vacuum bags: place in boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Turn off the heat, remove the bag with bail, cut the corner and pour onto your plate.
Individual meals: insert in the microwave for 3-4 minutes (if frozen 5-6 minutes). Lift a small corner of the plastic. Containers can also go in the 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes (if frozen 45-55 minutes).
Family meals (metal container with plastic lid): remove plastic lid, insert foil container into oven at 350-375 degrees for 30 minutes (if frozen 45-60 minutes).
Empanadas : put the empanadas on parchment paper, brush with egg yolk or milk. Place in oven at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
Yes ! The individual meal tray is compostable and the plastic wrap is recyclable.
Certainly ! Simply enter your address to ensure we deliver to your home. Mazzola will then contact you by email and/or telephone once the order is ready to leave. Normally orders are ready the same day or up to 48 working hours depending on the order placed.
Please note that during COVID times, our employees will not be going into apartment buildings. They will ring the bell at the entrance, but you will have to go down to collect your order.
In addition, if you live in the city center and there are no parking spaces for our delivery person to park to drop off the order at your home, it is possible that he will call you to come pick up the order outside.
Also, if you have pets at home, please keep them inside your home. If your pet escapes from your home during the delivery of your meals and it is not under control, we, the Mazzola Company and our employee take no responsibility.
Of course ! If you want to freeze a sauce/soup that is in the vacuum bags, be sure to keep the bag as flat as possible in your freezer to keep the flat shape for easy storage.
The dishes arrive in both states, we cannot offer any guarantee in this regard. However, if you order our 'weekly specials', it is very likely that the dishes you receive will be fresh since they are made that week.
However, if an inventory of the dish in question remains in the freezer from the last production, these dishes will be sold first.
We try to prepare each order as quickly as possible, however, an order may take up to 48 business hours to be complete (if you order a meal on Friday at 4:00 p.m., the 24 hours will not begin until the following Monday as we are closed on weekends). However, several products indicate the date they will be ready in their title (example: Chicken cacciatore - restock January 24). This means that this meal will only be ready from the date indicated.
Once your order is ready, you will receive a confirmation email telling you that you can pick it up (Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.). If the order has not been picked up within 24-48 hours of the email sent, a member of our staff will call you.
If you opt for delivery, a member of our staff will call or email you to let you know when the order is on its way. Delivery may take 24-48 business hours. We prefer that you be present to collect your order in person instead of leaving it outside your home. On the other hand, if you have confirmed that you will be present to receive the order and when you arrive at the door, you are not there, the delivery person will leave the order at your home and will try to hide it as best he can from it. view from the street. MEALS FOR YOUR CHILDREN’S SCHOOL
Simply go to the menu and click on the “ School Catering ” button. You will then need to enter your information to access your online account.
If you have never ordered meals for your children before through our company, please choose the last option "I am a brand new customer".
We can serve your children's school with a quote issued by your child's school. They must give us the chance to participate in the submission.
We can also become your children's school caterer by making a presentation to the school principal and/or parent council.
If you would like us to serve your child's school, please email us and we will contact your child(ren)'s school.
Certainly, in fact we have four different menu choices for children in schools. We have a gluten-free menu (ZZ1), an allergen-free menu (gluten-free, egg-free, lactose-free, ZZ2), a Halal menu (ZZ3) and finally a vegan menu (without animal products ZZ4).
To order these menus, please create a second account for your child, choose the desired menu in the "Your child's school" section then choose their school in "dinner location".
Once everything is saved, you can make allergen menu selections for your children. Be sure to order on days when Mazzola will deliver to your child's school.

You have until 7:00 a.m. to place your order that same morning. However, any order made within 48 business hours will have a last minute fee of $1.50.
You have until 9:00 a.m. to cancel your order. Simply select the meal you wish to cancel and then save. A credit will be generated automatically.
We make it our duty to respect the environment. This is why all meals are distributed in compostable containers with recyclable films. To avoid waste for a single menu, we have containers with multiple compartments, therefore less waste for the environment.
When you cancel your order (your child was sick or had an appointment for example), you will receive a credit in your online account. The credit will be present in your account until you use it/place a new order (and will remain in your account for the following year), so you do not lose your credit. However, if you wish to receive a refund, you must contact us directly, by telephone or email. The refund will be generated to you, but PayPal's service fees will be deducted from the refund. These fees will be disclosed to you before completing the transaction.
No. To follow the new Canadian regulations on the manufacture and importation for the sale of various single-use plastics which have been prohibited since December 20, 2022, Mazzola will no longer include single-use utensils in order bags for all schools and catering service starting February 1, 2023. You must therefore provide reusable utensils in your child's lunch box if you order a Mazzola meal. Please note that we have some emergency utensils if necessary for a temporary period.
